The SOG Camp Axe is a lightweight camping axe. Its stainless 2Cr13 steel head is cleverly designed. The head is thick at the points where you need strength and weight, and the rest is thinned out. This makes the axe highly usable, while keeping the weight manageable. You can easily carry it in your backpack. The large choil means you can grab the axe really close to the head. This allows you to easily cut feathersticks from the wood you’ve just split with the Camp Axe. The shaft is made from FRN. It feels plasticky, but it’s incredibly strong! FRN stands for fibre-reinforced nylon. The steel bushing around the shaft protects the shaft in the unlikely event that you miss the mark.
